Mr. Sanjeev Manchanda – Non-executive independent Chairman

Mr. Sanjeev Manchanda serves as Non-Executive Independent Chairman of Infomedia 18 Ltd. Mr. Manchanda has been a Director of Infomedia 18 Ltd. (Infomedia India Limited) since August 2008. Mr. Manchanda is involved in rendering a wide range of advisory services especially to the media industry in India. He has considerable and varied experience in Financial advisory services, Investment banking, Capital market transactions, Mergers, amalgamations, acquisitions and corporate … restructuring, Cross Border Transaction and Private equity. He is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (FCA) and has been practicing as a Chartered Accountant since 1981. He is also a Law Graduate from Delhi University and an Economics (Hons) Graduate from the well-known St Stephen’s college, Delhi.

Raghav Bahl
Founding/Controlling Shareholder & Managing Director – Network 18

Raghav Bahl, 48 years, is the Founder, Controlling Shareholder and Managing Director of Network 18. Raghav began his career as a management consultant with A.F. Ferguson & Co. followed by a stint with American Express Bank before he turned to his first love, media. Winner of the Sanskriti Award for Journalism in 1994, Raghav has over 22 years’ experience in television and journalism. He founded TV18 (now Network18 Group) in 1993.

He has been instrumental in crafting successful Joint Ventures with such media giants as NBC Universal, Viacom, Time Warner and Forbes. In a short span of 15 years, Network18 has achieved a market capitalization in excess of USD 0.75 bn.

Raghav is a widely admired entrepreneur and was hailed as a Global Leader of Tomorrow by the World Economic Forum. He was also selected by Ernst & Young as ‘Entrepreneur of The Year (2007) for Business Transformation’.

An Economics graduate from St. Stephens College, Raghav has done MBA from the University of Delhi.

Raghav has also authored the book ‘Superpower?: The Amazing Race Between China’s Hare And India’s Tortoise’.

Haresh Chawla
Group CEO – Network18 and Viacom18

Haresh Chawla, 41 years, has been with the Network18 Group for the last 10 years and is today the Group CEO of Network18 as well as the Viacom18 Group. With an experience spanning close to 2 decades, Haresh’s expertise lies in building viable and profitable business models around brands – by identifying opportunities, leveraging synergies across platforms, unlocking people value and then using the Network strength to fuel growth. Under his leadership and within a short span of time, both, the Network18 as well as the Viacom18 Group today reach out to more than 300 million households across platforms – television, print, films, mobile and internet.

The Network18 Group today operates India’s leading business television news services through the CNBC channels (CNBC TV18, CNBC AWAAZ), India’s leading online company WEB 18 (Portals across the content ,transaction & communication space) which is the group’s internet arm as well as India’s leading real time data & information platform, NEWSWIRE 18. The group has also established a leading presence in general news and entertainment with the IBN channels (CNN-IBN, IBN 7 and IBN-Lokmat) and the recently launched Home shopping platform with HomeShop18.

Within 18 months of conceptualising Viacom18, (Network18’s 50:50 JV with Viacom), Haresh has lead unprecedented growth to put all brands in the Viacom18 Group (MTV, Nick, Vh1 and Studio18) in leadership position, including the very successful launch of COLORS, that broke the 9-year old monopoly in the GEC space. Haresh’s previous assignments have all been with start-ups including the HCL Group, where he headed business development for HCL Comnet; ABCL, where he set up the Film Distribution Business, and at the Times of India Group where he launched their music label – Times Music.

Haresh is an IIT-Mumbai and IIM-Calcutta alumnus.

B Sai Kumar
Group COO of Network18

B.Sai Kumar, 35 years, leads management teams across group companies and works closely with business heads to optimize business value and revenue generation. He is a core member of the group’s business strategy team and through his decade long stint has been responsible for providing operational leadership and enabling stellar organic growth across the group’s market leading brands. Sai also plays an integral role in the various inorganic forays of the group across business verticals. Prior to joining the Network18 Group, Sai was with the Times of India Group, where he worked with Times Music, Times Retail and Times FM.

He holds an MBA in Marketing and an undergraduate degree in Statistics.

Senthil Chengalvarayan
President & Editorial Director of TV18 Business Media

Senthil Chengalvarayan, 46 years, is the President and Editorial Director of Network 18’s Business Media. In this role, Senthil heads a host of verticals which form part of the groups Business Media Ecosystem (this includes Business/Tech/Personal Finance magazines, financial portals, business wires and extensions of CNBC TV18 & CNBC Awaaz, business news on the mobile etc.).

Prior to this, Senthil was the Managing Editor of CNBC TV18. A service he helped start as its editor in 1999. As a pioneer of Business Television in India he led a team of journalists that made CNBC TV18 the most successful media network in the Country. Senthil, who has been a business journalist for over two decades, spent his early years with some of India’s leading business Dailies before joining Television Eighteen in 1994 when it was just a 30 man outfit. It was then a company pioneering the entry of private players into Television News in India. Senthil was a key participant in the effort that saw the industry break the shackles of government controlled news and grow into the phenomenon that it is today.

Senthil has been an invited speaker at a number of industry seminars. He was voted as one of India’s top 5 English news anchors by the Hindustan Times C-Fore Survey in 2007, the first Business Anchor to be included in that list. He is also a recipient of the Young Achiever Award from the Indo US Business Council.

A Graduate in Economics from Madras University, he has done his Masters in Journalism from the Times Research Foundation
